To the conscientious AIG exec who returned this bonus.
I'll admit it's extravagant in terms of the price and not as functionally faultless as the iconic brand name would have you believe. But it does keep time, it holds its value better than virtually any stock investment over the past year and, moreover, it's an ingeniously (if paradoxically) subtle creation on the part of the renowned manufacturer. Upon observing this gaudy, garish, stomach-unsettling piece upon your wrist, nobody (with the possible exception of Rod Blagojevich) will suspect you of flashing them with genuine bleeping gold let alone a Rolex! No, it won't buy you a Senate seat, but it has a legitimate outside chance at becoming an appreciating asset if the recently completed movie about Liberace becomes a box office hit.
Nonetheless, I hope you're serious about your claim that you've returned the item to Amazon. I'm eagerly waiting for it to appear in Amazon's Warehouse Deals.

So nice to see the government bailout money given to AIG is being used appropriately, along with the elaborate vacations & insane Christmas bonuses being thrown around at AIG as well. Why is our government not stepping in to control how this bail out money is being used???!!! This is absolutely ridiculous and a great example of why this country is in the shape that it's in right now. Because of greedy crooks like AIG!!! It's also a huge slap in the face to all the small business owners who are fueling the economy, doing the right thing, & not getting any help at all. Where's the sense in all of this? Our government sucks. (Big guys taking care of the big guys & the hell with the rest of the world.)
Functional gift
We have bought a dozen of these to give as gifts to AIG executives but once the stock market crashed and the credit crunch took hold we thought we should not show such signs of indulgence therefore we returned them.Not worth the money although they look a little better than watches costing 40 dollars.
