I love my GMT Master II
I bought my two-tone Rolex GMT Master II (116713) three weeks ago in Savannah, GA. It is absolutely beautiful and looks great with both professional clothing and casual wear. So far, the watch 'lost' about two seconds over a week and a half which is great. The quality of the watch is amazing and definitely worth the price. Actually, I love it so much that I have started saving for a Daytona (for my next birthday). This is a timepiece for life!
Better investment than my stock portfolio (and looks better too)!!
Bought my two-tone GMT-II watch in 1992. It is classic time piece and the two-tone is great for dress-up occasions or sport dress. Whether in a suit or shorts, the two-tone looks great and not out of place. The key to a Rolex is having it cleaned and serviced every 5 years or so depending on how often you wear it and how rought you are when wearing it. It will gain or loose time (each watch is different) due to being hand-made and not controlled my a "chip" like a quartz watch.
The dual time-zone capability is great and works flawlessly. If one travels a lot domestically or internationally, you'll learn to use it and love it!!
There are a lot of fakes out there, so research what you want and know what to look for. Buy from well known retailers and the serial numbers can all be looked up to know the exact date of manufacture of the watch. Buyer beware... buy from reputable dealers who you can research in order to build confidence in and with.
Enjoy wearing it... I do!!!!
This it IT!
I bought my GMT II in 1984. I have other Swiss made automatics that cost alot. This is the last one I would give up. I have warn it 90% of the time for 24 years. Its not a watch, it's really part of me. It will outlive me and has everlasting value. Don't waste money on the others unless all you care about is what time it is.

Elegance and Hardcore Even When the Time Doesn't Matter!
Well, some great reviews ahead of me.
My Sub has survived hundreds of hours of intense sportfishing in the Pacific Ocean, involving tons of watch surface contact with wire, marlin bills, salt, metal, chrome, and so on......then a wipe with the sleeve gets it ready for hitting the bar. I don't mind admitting that a glance at my thrift store clothes, and sandals, and Submariner, has altogether instigated some intimate encounters with premium tail.
Fits sooooo good compared to others. Seems more appropriate to tall men, 6' +.
Next Time, I'll Purchase A Burberry
Never have I been so disgusted at a certain watch. Coming from a wealthy family from the countryside of Connecticut, I needed not only a watch that fitted my elite status but a piece of jewelry that told strangers that I am better than you. Browsing Amazon and given the little amount of time before the Chanel Secret Party I was to attend the day after, I purchased this Rolex watch with overnight shipping.
When the watch arrived, it looked nothing like the image portrayed on my 30" computer monitor. It's shine was not capable of blinding strangers that passed by, which upsetted me. I would not let this get in the way as I would later attend the Chanel Secret Party with my date Anna Kournikova. I hear she's a tennis player, but I do not have the time nor lack of money to keep up with these current events.
Thus I arrived at the Chanel Secret Party located in Beverly Hills, California with my date Anna in my unreleased Porsche Boxster Eleven. It was the home of Kanye West's, I hear he is a popular musical artist? Although the house estimated a grand total of $20 million, it was average in my eyes.
I am going to make this review short and end it soon as I have to leave on my G5 to attend a Billionaire's Party in Paris and because I am too important to even be sitting here writing a review on such a ridiculous product to average viewers. But to get to the main point, the watch was annoyingly uncomfortable, stopped midway through the party, and even started going in reverse!
If you do have the money to buy this product without feeling any sense of guilt, which I believe you do not, then I suggest not buying this product. Save it for a pair of shoes or a hair cut instead.

Worth it at any price!
This watch is the finest timepiece one can encounter in their lives. However, you have better odds of seeing the abominable snowman in person. I spent seven years on multiple waiting lists till I was able to acquire the white dial 116520 (the rarest daytona)at RRP ($9925 as of Nov 2008). This watch has appreciated 45% in retail price since I have been looking for it. If you see one buy it (it's not a practical purchase, but grants the wearer the ultimate exclusivity because of its sheer rarity). Regard it as artwork and you'll enjoy your purchase.
Rolex Daytona- rare, beautiful, and worth every cent!
As a fairly new Rolex Daytona owner (waiting list for 2 years), I concur with the statements made before me about availability, and cost. The watch speaks for itself (if real) and I am impressed with it more each day. Whether it is an object of love, desire, investment, or indulgence, wanting one is no sin, and owning one sheer pleasure. Of course other than its' aesthetic beauty, and the feeling of confidence and pride one gets in owning a very high quality ANYTHING (it is first and foremost an unquestioned serious timepiece and item of jewelry), lots of Rolex owners simply LIVE for the reactions of others to the watch. It reflects different things to different people, owners and viewers alike. It outlast owners, and will increase in value each year. I trust other owners will enjoy theirs as much as I do mine. I also own a Movado Men's diamond Eliro, and while stylish and elegant in its' own right, the Rolex is a whole other animal.
I love this watch
I got this watch at a hefty price, but it's worth every penny. It's almost impossible to get from authorized Rolex dealer as they are stupid or rather Rolex for making such a short supply. But I guess that is part of the appeal of the watch. People tend to want what they cannot get. If the supply was not as low, the appeal for this watch may not be as high. But objectively speaking, I think it is a beautiful piece. It is questionable if there are better-looking watches out there, but it was fun finally finding a place that sells it. It's a jungle out there as some stores have no waiting lists or if they do, require you to be a prefer customer and some have a first-come basis policy which really depends on LUCK...forget all that, I pay whatever, give me the damn watch.

Finest piece ever owned
Grandma told me I didn't need a Daytona, but I sure love Dale Jr. I sold my trailer to by this classy piece of work. It has served me well. It keeps me on time so the misses doesn't catch me with mah sister. Who needs fancy suites and K-Mart sweaters? I were this beuty brings out the best in mah Budlight and Z28.

Too much money for a watch that has no date.
I was on the waiting list at my local authorized dealer for 2 years before I got the call. I promptly pick up the watch and added it to my collection of other wathches. But after 2 months, I became annoyed that it had no date. So I promptly sold it for $2000 more than I paid for it. Why anybody would pay that kind of money for a watch with no date is beyond me. I am glad to be rid of it.
